Award for the best "students"

Modern companies have to invest in their resources. At Gecko, we are aware that our employees are our greatest asset and what enables us to offer customers the highest level of service.

One of the benefits for our employees is an English language course within Cambridge Face2Face program, organized at our premises. In order to further stimulate our people after a long day, to learn and improve their skills, as a standard practice, we have introduced an award for the best at the end of each course - best "students" are going on short vacation abroad.

After the first round of courses and trip to Berlin, this time a small but adventurous Gecko crew, had a chance to get to know the beauty and magic of Brazil,  by visiting one of its biggest and most famous cities - Rio de Janeiro.

Even though the journey to our final destination took well over 14 hours, that didn't stop us to take a stroll on Copacabana beach and refresh with some coconuts and local fruit right upon arrival.

When we realized that the city was truly enormous, we decided that the best way to get around it was to have a tour guide, who gave us the opportunity to see almost every Rio's tourist attraction and the way locals live. During the tour, we had reached the highest peak of Rio, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located and where the entire city could be seen from the palm of your hand.

Local cuisine didn't leave us cold-hearted, because not only it offers a wide variety of meats and seafood, but tasty salads and delicious desserts as well (ice-creams and much more...).

One thing, that you should not miss when visiting Rio, is sunset on Ipanema beach, and that is what we did on last day of our visit. We have just finished the next round of language courses, and we will see if next trip will be even more interesting.
